Hi, and welcome to The My Future Business Show!

It’s not often that I immediately jump into writing a post about my guest post-call. However, today is very different, and for a very important reason.

Now, I believe there are many things about our world today that are of concern; and I suspect, are of similar concern to many of us – whether we like to outwardly acknowledge it or not.

With that in mind, one of the things that is of concern to many of us, relates to our culture of what my next guest refers to as ‘mindless consumption’.

As an example…think of the very last thing you purchased – was it wrapped in plastic? Was it made of a petroleum-based product? Do you know where it came from? Do you know how it was made? And do you know the resources that were used to get it to you?

How conscious of these things were you when you bought it? And did it even matter to you?

In western society at least, we seem to encourage a culture of immediate gratification. This need for getting what we want, for as cheap as we can, and when we want it [now], has spurred on industrial growth that feeds this unquenchable desire for immediate satisfaction – regardless of the real cost.

Unfortunately, it seems, that much of this industrial growth has created more problems that it appears to have solved…in a large part, I believe this can be attributed to petroleum-based products.

For many of us, we love the consumption culture because it’s easy and convenient. Couple that with our busy lifestyles, and our penchant for fast everything, and we seem to be on an unsustainable path.

What do I mean by that? Well, from what I can see, our global society is not doing enough, at least yet, to encourage businesses [and individuals alike] to do more to reduce their carbon footprint. It would appear that we can all do more by working towards creating and adopting sustainable production techniques and development of new technologies that will help recover our ailing planet.

This is not to say that my next guest does not enjoy the good things in life, in fact, quite the opposite is true. The real issue, when you break it down, is realigning our collective focus on how our current behaviors are impacting our lives, the lives of our children, their children, and the planet we all share.

So, with that in the front of mind, it is my greatest pleasure to welcome to the show, ANDERS ANKARLID.

Anders is a husband and father, he is an entrepreneur, but most tellingly, he is a leader. The reason I want to focus on the word leader here, is because he is taking massive action as part of his mission to leave a positive dent in the world, by being the catalyst for sustainable change in his business ‘A Good Company’.

Anders has an incredibly important story to share, and shares insights that may just change the way you think and act as it relates to your consumption and the way you/your business impacts the environment.

This was a special call, and I had a wonderful time talking with Anders…and I know you will take away some great insights.
