My Future Business Interview with Clyde McCulley

Hi, and welcome to The My Future Business Show!

Today, I have a treat in store for those looking to become an author of children’s books.

With that in mind, it is my absolute pleasure to introduce CLYDE McCULLEY to the show.

Now, Clyde, a Professor of Art, former Dean, and the last of six kids born to a father of 60 years of age, and a mother 40 years young, began writing and publishing books for middle graders shortly after retiring.

In my discussion with Clyde, he shares how his series of books is based around poor kids living in the Appalachian Mountains in the 50’s. And although based in fiction, each book contains elements of Clyde’s own upbringing in the ‘sticks’ of Arkansas during that time.

Clyde has also written a memoir called “The Boy On Shady grove Road”, which is a collection of 100 stories from his early years in the conservative segregated South of the 1940’s and 50’s.

In sharing his story, Clyde sparked memories of my own childhood, which was one free of today’s technology, and more about having fun outside, playing with bugs and making mud cakes in the rain. Such is the power of stories.

I had a wonderful time on the call with Clyde, and hopefully, what he shares takes you back to when you were a child, and everything seemed simpler.
