There are many times when we try to achieve too much, which can often result in emotional and physical burnout. Left unaddressed, these silos of unrestrained emotions have the ability to manifest in our physical body in the form of disease.

With that in mind, on today’s call, founder of The Institute of Empathetic Leadership LIANA ALLISON, shares some of her personal experiences as the owner of multiple tourism businesses, which although very successful, had another side that affected her emotional state, the way she ran her business, and how she interacted with her family.

There’s a lot to be said for being successful, but there’s even more to be said about enjoying the journey along the way. Accordingly, the focus here is to take stock of your emotional-side, and consider the amount of downtime you give yourself, and your loved ones, as you work hard to achieve the goals you set for yourself.

There are a range of options that Liana shares that can empower you to deal with your emotions, both in business and in life. This is not hard work, but does require persistence and consistency.

Part of the process is to have Liana talk with you to uncover some of the underlying issues that may be impacting your life, and set in place a set of practical steps to improve how you process your emotions such that you can live a healthier, happier life – and importantly, build a better business.

I especially enjoyed when Liana shared the importance of finding the time for downtime as there are so many times when we continue pushing forward, when really, all we need is to take stock, slow down and enjoy life.
