My Future Business Interview with RAVI JAYAGOPAL

On today’s My Future Business Show I have the pleasure of spending time with entrepreneur, coach, author, speaker, podcaster, digital marketer, and ‘the coolest geek in the world’ RAVI JAYAGOPAL.

Ravi’s been online in some way or another since 1997. During that time, he’s created and sold a wide selection of products and services; including information products, software, WordPress plugins, membership site software, online courses, eBooks, Kindle books, audiobooks, premium podcasts, agency services, webinars, consulting and coaching services.

To say Ravi is a prolific content creator, is an understatement. And during today’s call, Ravi shares how you can take just one piece of content, and repurpose that same content in a number of different ways.

During the call, Ravi mentions that creating content is a must as you work towards building your online presence. Ravi also talks about how there’s no more faking it until you make. In fact, before you start creating any content, it’s vital to first understand as much as you can about your audience.

Once you do have a good understanding of your target audience, and you know specifically who you’re talking to, and what they want, you can develop an effective content strategy that not only serves them, but aligns with how they normally access and consume content.

On this content rich call, among many other topics, Ravi also talks about how you need to determine where your audience hangs out. For example, it may be that your audience is an older demographic; thus, it might be that they don’t use Tik Tok. Instead, you might find them on some other platform like Facebook or LinkedIn. Understanding this is important ground work that will save you a lot of pain and content rework in the future.

An interesting takeaway for me, was when Ravi talked about how he uses Tik Tok as another avenue to not only share his message, but to also share his love of ventriloquism. In fact, Ravi’s humor is another part of why so many people are attracted to his self-deprecating nature that helped him overcome some of his own challenges early on. This is a must listen to call if you want to overcome any self-doubts.

Another fantastic takeaway that we can all adopt, which caught my attention, was Ravi’s mantra:

“you must create more than you consume, and you must promote more than you create”

This call covers so many different topics, including Ravi’s time on stage, his experience as an author of seven books, and it also takes a deep dive into the mind of a man who knows the importance of listening to your target audience, the techniques he uses to stay focused and get more done, and my all-time favourite, insights into his journey as a podcaster, which he calls his last digital frontier.
