My Future Business Interview with VANCE MORRIS

Hi, and welcome to the show!
On today’s My Future Business Show I have the pleasure of spending time with business owner, speaker, author and coach VANCE MORRIS.
Located in Orlando Florida, Vance has embedded many of the systems and principles that he learnt during his decade working as a senior manager at Disneyland, into his own business, and that of his clients.
Some of Vance’s clients have included Legal Seafoods, Tyson, NASA, Rain Forest Café, Compass Group, The Executive Office of the President of the United States, The Smithsonian and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Today, along with running his own successful carpet cleaning business, Vance coaches’ other business owners in how to use these same Disney techniques that systematically and repeatedly deliver an amazing experience for customers.
Interestingly, many of Vance’s clients go from “I can’t do that, I’m not Disney’ to getting results just by adding some simple systems into their business, resulting in many positive experiences.
As a business owner himself, Vance has a special way of treating his carpet cleaning customers. The reason it’s special is because Vance has embedded many of Disney’s customer-experience systems and service philosophy.
Vance talks in very specific detail about the customer journey, he talks about his carpet cleaning clients, and how they each receive a personalized gift before any work is even done. Vance also talks about the importance of presentation, and how the customer experience is planned and choreographed to make sure the end customer has that memorable experience.
The thing that stood out for me, was when Vance talked about reciprocity. This phycological tool dictates that when you give a gift, for example giving a personalized gift to a customer, then they will be compelled through the rule of reciprocity, to return the favor. Oftentimes this will result in additional work for Vance’s business.
What I found intriguing, is that even though Vance’s competitors know what he does, they don’t replicate his systems, and thus, they don’t reap the same rewards.
In terms of his speaking engagements, Vance has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in industry, including Dan Kennedy, Joe Polish, Bob Brown, Lou Ferrigno, Dean Jackson, Jack Canfield, Charles Henning, Lee Cockerall, Meg Crofton, and many more.
